Rubber mulch is one of the lowest-maintenance surfacing options available. Unlike wood fibre, it doesn’t decompose, compact quickly, or attract pests. You’ll want to rake it back into place periodically (kids tend to kick it around) and top it up every few years as it naturally migrates. A quick rake once a month keeps it looking great and performing well.
